If you get the error:
ERROR      2021-08-14 15:32:18.940 (root/sapinst) (startInstallation) [CInstallerCallBackImpl.cpp:259] id=ind-rel.ind-os.ind-db.assertionFailed errno=CJS-00030 CInstallerCallBackImpl::abortInstallation()
Assertion failed: Unable to generate a new password for database login 'sa'. Refer to trace file sapinst_dev.log for further information.

If you get the error:

Assertion failed: Unable to generate a new password for database login 'sa'. Refer to trace file sapinst_dev.log for further information.

Download the file "SAP ABAP AS Part License" from the SAP Trials and Download site here  and extract the file "SYBASE_ASE_TestDrive.lic" into the next location and re-run the installation:
/sybase/NPL/SYSAM-2_0/licenses/SYBASE_ASE_TestDrive.lic
